PlayStation Now Adds Downloading of PS4 and PS2 Games
If you have already started a game via streaming on PlayStation Now and want to continue playing locally on your PlayStation 4, you can transfer your save file from the PlayStation Now cloud to your console with a PlayStation Plus membership a PlayStation Plus membership is not required to sign-up for PlayStation Now itself.
And remember, you do not need a PlayStation Plus membership for online multiplayer on PS Now — which stays the same for both streaming and downloaded games. Check out this page for step-by-step instruction videos on how to transfer your game saves. A quick reminder that there are a few days left to get in on our summer price promotion, which ends September This is a great time to catch up on PS4 games that you missed or discover new franchises through PS Now.
Full Press Release — Source. Hopefully you guys are working on it. I agree. And the fact that it works with DLCs without having to purchase the game is pretty cool. God of War Definitive Saga or whatever you want to call it. Metal Gear Definitive Legacy Collection or whatever you want to call it.
So now that you can download games why not make it available in Australia? I just want the subscription to download and play these games.
Seriously, guys. Stop making this needlessly complicated and please do the consumer friendly thing and let us use our playstation 3 discs to play Playstation 3 games. Sony should have pieced together a workaround for them where I can just download my save straight from the PS now cloud.
Sony you got to do better. Oh before I forget Sony you got to work on that pricing. Get away from this staggered subscription model. It just seems pointless to have both or to even just have Plus, especially considering the deletion of PS Vita games and PS3 if I remember correctly being included as freebies.
When will it come to Italy? Looking forward for an answer, thank you in advance. Still limping along on PS 2 as they are the best games. Thanks for adding this feature, it is apprexiated. It would be nice if you guys could figure out a way to at least add surround sound support to the streamed PS3 games though if Netflix can offer 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos streaming support with no problems, surely Sony can figure out at least basic Dolby Digital 5.
Good move forward with PS Now. Next step should be letting PS3 games be downloaded to PS3. Streaming feature is not even needed on PS3.
And, yea, final step should be unification of Plus and Now services. Now is becoming extension of plus subscription with current model. So can Australia finally use this service now? I miss some of the ps3 games and want to play on my ps4.
Should the game be previously streamed to enable download? The feature is rolling out now and over the weekend. Updates like this make it difficult to look at other alternatives This is an amazing update to an already impressive service.
Why I should care about you it? There are only 13 on the PS Now service, 50 That are available from the store to purchase and download. More will be added to now and more will be given the same treatment p and trophies. Now we just need more recent titles to enter the service, so it can truly compete with the Xbox Game Pass. I think they will add more recent titles if the subscriptions start picking up.
I fear that when the PSN service for the ps3 is cut off and this day is getting closer I will lose all the games that I purchased there. Wow, this is huge news — awesome! My internet has been really poor lately, so this makes PS Now go from being not that interesting to me to a much bigger deal! Well either the mod is wrong, or the website is, cause I can surely count and I only count at the moment, with 12 not 13 PS2 titles.
I would like to know this as well. Download PS3 games to a PS3, that is. I was hesitant to jump on to PS Now mainly because of the streaming requirement. The option to stream games in p. Add all older PS exclusives. I miss ps now on my vita. I cried during the US solar eclipse when I and took my vita to use at the hotel at the end of the day. I would really like to play ps now on my tablet.
I abandoned my laptop back in no regrets. Well it collects dust in my desk. I am curious what you would consider an older exclusive though?

Hummels September 20, at am PDT. I agree with you. We want to psn name change! Sindred September 20, at am PDT. Well said Sindred. E para o Brasil? Yet you still pay for PS Plus. Koimia September 20, at pm PDT.
This is amazing, resubscribing today! Welcome aboard! I mean — welcome back! This is pretty cool. Hope to see more updates to PS Now. Renatojssillas September 20, at am PDT. Hi, is there any possibility of the service being launched in Brazil? Sreenadh September 20, at am PDT. Chroniatry September 20, at am PDT. Native hardware would be best, but realistically, since it's not a reletively large number of people that care about it, I can't see it being prudent to add all the necessary hardware for past systems.
Which is why Sony needs to get on the ball and just start releasing more PS2 and PS1 games to the service. They don't need to enhance then or add trophies, just do straight digital ports. Of course like you said it's going to be a slow process but one I'm sure they can handle.
While that would be nice, I think a lot of that is up to the publishers, as Sony only has say over it's own published games. They could indeed try to entice publishers to release more games through it, but I think to get that, they'd have to have a way for the publishers to sell the games on the PS When I say relatively large, I mean enough to make it worth making everyone pay for a hardware solution. Sony will likely still go for a price point, and keeping hardware BC in will increase their costs, which may increase the customers costs, and I think they'll try to repeat how they started the PS4's design and pricing paradigm which is why we didn't get BC to begin with.
No, those are handled by the storefront on the front end and credentialing tied to the account from the back end. Storing that data or validating it via firmware is a security flaw as it would mean breaking the firmware would give people access to those details so they could illegally obtain software without purchasing it.
Firmware security is tied to legitimizing software installed, it is not about designation access. That's done on the backed via the login and whatever they gave associated with that login. Firmware front end elements are pretty UI related in that regard as far as associating software access. As mentioned, utilizing firmware for software certification would be a massive security issue and would cost them money as well as lawsuits from third parties if it was ever cracked.
Awesome, now if they can get more relevant games on there and work on the pricing model I'll probably Sub. What do you consider more relevant?
Despite what a lot of people say, the service works pretty well unless you have really laggy internet. Get Socom 2 on the list and i will be one happy guy. I know its a dream but would love to play socom 2 multiplayer. I know H Hour is coming soon and its basically socom. Even same maps. But to play the original would be so much better. Dont even care for updated graphics.
Just give me socom. Now they need to get the monthly price down and I think they have something. PlayStation Now PS4 blog. Is Izzy Moving to Heavyweight? The story is too old to be commented.
